In order to promote conference attendance, the organizers realized that many prospective attendees are increasingly turning to social media for information, and this could be a very effective way to gain mindshare among a digitally interconnected audience.
The organizers turned to Ms. Vasudha Paul, who runs a social media marketing consulting practice, for ways to amplify awareness of the TiE Conference and drive registrations. Vasudha had previously used the Engage.Social system to promote the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Silicon Valley, and seen its effectiveness in action then. (http://www.newzsocial.com/resources/case-studies/) She helped recruit a network of 48 social media ambassadors in the Engage.Social system to help promote content related to the 2017 TiE Conference. These ambassadors posted some 3,400 pieces of content across various social networks, which generated over 13,000 clicks and over 3,000 interactions (likes, shares etc). The campaigns generated a social k-factor coefficient of 5.68 (a measure of the lift benefit of each post).
Dipty Desai, program director for the conference, commented: “Engage.Social really made our posts go viral! I got so many emails from people saying they heard about the conference through our tweets and posts.”
Anand Akela, head of marketing for TiEcon, said: “Thanks Vasudha and Engage.Social for leading the social influencer campaign and showing an excellent result. A Social K-factor of 5.68 is most impressive given the short planning and implementation period. Your continued support and use of innovative technology helps us promote our mission of empowering the next global generation of entrepreneurship”
